The Last Supper
Join us for The Last Supper presentation THIS Sunday, March 25 at 8:00 p.m. at 201 Vance Street, Kannapolis, NC. This special event is only presented every three years. You truly don't want to miss this very unique experience.
The presentation of Leonardo da Vinci's portrait of “The Last Supper” as a living drama has become a tradition in the First Presbyterian Church of Kannapolis, North Carolina. The first dramatization of this portrait was presented in April 1961.
The unveiling of this portrait reveals men of the church who have been transformed from the present age to Leonardo’s interpretation of the first century to become images of Jesus and His disciples. This is their last meeting together before Jesus would be betrayed by one of the twelve and would go to His death. As each disciple is spotlighted, he gives a short monologue on his position among the twelve. In his sincerity to Christ, he ends his declaration asking Jesus if he would be the betrayer . . . “Is it I, Lord, Is it I?”
