Still I Rise had an incredible time serving students at Edison Elementary School and Kennedy Middle School by providing life-size Mother’s Day cards for students to personalize and present to their parents.

The experience became even more special as Still I Rise Operations Manager and professional fine artist Aaron Robinson led an engaging art workshop, where students enthusiastically participated in a live drawing session that inspired creativity, self-expression and happiness.

This past Saturday, Still I Rise hosted its “Unity, Healing & Restoration” Community Giveaway, bringing people together in a powerful moment of connection, compassion, and support. Held at Remax Prestige Homes Sidewalk in Kankakee, the event served as a reminder that even in the face of hardship, we are stronger when we stand together.

Community members came out to receive essential items, including new and gently used clothing for men, women, and children, baby clothing, household goods like dinnerware sets, new boots for girls, and beverages. More importantly, they left with something deeper - a renewed sense of hope, dignity, and belonging.

This impactful effort was made possible through the generosity and partnership of organizations and businesses committed to giving back, including Walmart, ComEd, Xfinity, TurningPoint Energy, Fierce Financial Planning Services Inc., Kankakee Natural Foods, Riverview Grocery, AAA Roofing Contractors , Bedrock Exterior Contractors INC, Dan Hollowell —Country Financial, Advanced Computer Specialists, Inc. , and many others.
