"Testosterone naturally decreases in men by about 1% annually starting in their 30s, and researchers have also noted a consistent generational decline in testosterone levels of age-matched men for several decades. In the past, the FDA has advised against using testosterone therapy to treat natural aging declines, a decision that has frustrated experts like Morgentaler who argue the restriction is inconsistent with most health care practices.

"“Hypertension, diabetes, cancer, arthritis—almost all of modern adult medicine—is age related,” Morgentaler said. “Why is testosterone deficiency being singled out as the one thing that becomes more prevalent with age but shouldn’t be treated?”"
