The Bird Perch

Thursday 7/9/2026: We got a little rain late this morning, then it cleared up and was pretty nice the rest of the day! Yesterday a momma turkey brought her 4 babies to the yard and they were out here first thing this morning too! I hope they stick around! I also forgot to mention yesterday that there was a Green Heron the visited the stream camera! Very unusual visitor, though 2 of them visited last year for a day too! It looks like there will be just 4 baby bluebirds instead of 5. The last egg still did not hatch today. But the 4 babies seem to be doing very well! It's always a great birdie day!

Wednesday 7/8/2026: Another nice summer day! It was a little warm but not as bad as last week. A 4th baby Bluebird hatched this morning! There were 5 eggs, but the last one hasn't hatched. Maybe that one isn't going to hatch? That happened with the last round. It's so exciting to see these little ones! Also this morning, the bunny greeted me near the garage! He/she heard me calling the squirrels for peanuts, and then waited for me by the garage. When I took the camera and food out closer to the woods, I told the bunny that it needed to follow me and it did :D I adore the bunnies!! It's always a great birdie and bunny day!

Happy 4th of July! Just wanted to pop in and say Hi and let you know that the power is out here. It went out during a big storm that went through yesterday afternoon. The generator is running but there is no internet and very little cell service at the house. They are saying it should be restored about 8 pm tonight, but I’m sure that could change!
