๐Ÿ’™ Celebrating the KAMSC Class of 2026! ๐ŸŽ“

Our annual Senior Recognition Ceremony was a wonderful evening filled with reflection, celebration, and community. The night began with performances from five talented student musicians as families, friends, and staff gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of the KAMSC Class of 2026. After opening remarks from KAMSC Director Mrs. Kortlandt, keynote speaker Dr. Shikha Jain (KAMSC Class of 1999), and senior speakers Rinzel Arroyo and Aanya Goel provided reflective stories, insight, and motivation to propel the graduates forward into the future. Student Senate co-presidents Hayden Clack and Adelie Chen, presented the senior class gift, as a sign of their gratitude and to leave their legacy at KAMSC.

We were also honored to welcome Dr. Sarah Neumann, Superintendent of Parchment Public Schools, who shared remarks before assisting with the presentation of KAMSC certificates. The evening concluded with the senior slideshow, countless photos, hugs, and refreshments. It was one final opportunity to celebrate this remarkable class together as a community. While it was a late night, it was also filled with joy, pride, and gratitude.

KAMSC Class of 2026, we are so proud of all you have accomplished and cannot wait to see where your journeys lead next. Don't forget to visit us on Alumni Day, Friday, December 18th 2026!โœจ

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Innovation in Action at KAMSC! ๐ŸŒฑ

KAMSC students Dharshna Chandra Mouleeswaran (11, PCHS) and Seneli Amaratunga (11, PCHS) recently competed at the Michigan Invention Convention at the The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation. Their project, focused on developing a plant-based antibacterial eutectogel for a sustainable wound dressing, earned:
๐Ÿ† 1st Place (Grades 9โ€“12)
๐Ÿ… Best Testing & Refining Award

Even more exciting; they have qualified for Nationals, taking place June 3โ€“5 in Detroit!

The Invention Convention U.S. Nationals celebrates student innovation, problem-solving, and real-world impact, making it a natural fit for KAMSCโ€™s focus on Research, Opportunity, and Excellence. This was KAMSCโ€™s first year participating, and based on this success, we are excited to continue growing opportunities for students to share their ideas on this stage.

We are proud of Seneli and Dharshna for their creativity, persistence, and meaningful work. Best of luck at Nationals! ๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŒ Is it ever a bad time to celebrate Earth? We think not. โœจ

We may be a day late for Earth Day, but at KAMSC, scientific curiosity about our planet is a year-round thing. Check out this awesome interactive tool from NASA that uses real satellite imagery from the Landsat program to spell your name using Earthโ€™s natural features. ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ›ฐ๏ธ It is a fun reminder of just how incredible - and data-rich - our planet is.
