It can be tough with so much stimulation these days but it’s true that you get what you focus on, so make it a priority to focus on what you want!

Electrolyzed Reduced Water (ERW) or ionized water is pretty much the coolest discovery of my life as a health conscious person. Swipe left for the main highlights or read on for a bit of science.

ERW is created by taking normal (pre-filtered!) tap water through the process of electrolysis using a water ionizer. It might sound complicated but it’s the same process that happens when lightening strikes a lake. The water is left changed and charged up.

Changed? Yep, restructured into smaller molecules which makes them more easily absorbed by our cells. Regular water clusters range from 15-20 molecules whereas ionized water clusters are more like 4-6. The aquaporins, the part of our cells that let water in and out, measure around 8-10.

It’s kinda like throwing a baseball through a chain link fence versus throwing a golf ball. The baseball will go through but not nearly as easily or quickly as the golf ball.

Ionization also leaves the water charged with tons of molecular hydrogen (H2) - a powerful antioxidant that binds to toxins and helps the body flush them. H2 works as an anti-inflammatory, reduces aches & pains, purifies the cells, improves cognitive function, gets rid of fatigue, speeds up wound healing & recovery in athletes, calms allergic reactions, and acts as a neuroprotective agent.

Couple of things to note given ‘Alkaline’ water has become more popular in recent years. There is a big difference between alkaline water and alkalized water!

Alkaline water has gone through a chemical change with the addition of synthetic minerals like magnesium, potassium, calcium or sodium bicarbonate (baking soda).

Alkalized Water has gone through an electrical change which means it will only hold its charge for a few days before the gaseous hydrogen begins to dissipate so cannot be bottled and that there’s no risk of the body becoming too alkaline.
