Whether you clean your windows or you hire professionals to do it. Take the time to inspect them! You’re looking for things like cracked glass, split or missing caulk around frames (interior & exterior), foggy windows or condensation between the panes. If you notice foggy windows or condensation between the panes I suggest getting your windows repaired or replaced as soon as you can. This is an indication that the window seals have shifted or cracked and the protective gas between the panes has escaped. This typically starts in a small area, but will quickly take over the entire window pane if not repaired.

I just cleaned the windows pictured yesterday 3/11/24. Windows are like anything else, if they are not cleaned on a regular basis, oxidation will start to form.
