Building on the foundational work of the Dan Marino Foundation, the certification formerly known as the Marino Adaptive Aquatics Certification is now the Ernie Els Autism MARINO Adaptive Aquatics Certification Program. Els for Autism is proud to fully oversee this certification, ensuring quality, consistency, and alignment with best practices in aquatic safety and autism support.
Now delivered through an interactive, self-paced Learning Management System (LMS), the updated certification equips aquatics professionals with practical tools and streamlined training to better serve individuals with developmental disabilities.

Our Executive Director, Marlene Sotelo, was featured on WPBF 25 News this morning to share an update on our Specialized Autism Recreation Complex, now under construction at The Els Center of Excellence.
The complex will include the Sprovieri Aquatic Center and expand access to water safety, inclusive recreation, and community programs for individuals with autism and their families.
We look forward to offering the Ernie Els Autism Aquatics at the Sprovieri Aquatic Center when it opens in spring 2027.
