This is a case which I recently handled in Palm Beach County. It underscores the difficulty in resolving a criminal case that everyone agreed was an accident . While we are pleased to resolve this case, we are still cognizant of the tragedy that happened.

Sentencing today for client at US District Court-Atlanta

Spent the last 11 days in a federal trial in WPB- jury came back this afternoon and acquitted my client on 7 of 8 counts. He was convicted of possessing ma*****na. He was looking at life if convicted as charged. Now he is looking at about a year on the ma*****na.

Christmas came early!

Motion to Produce Personal Cell Phone Records of 3 St Lucie County Deputies granted today by Circuit Judge after 2.5 hour motion hearing.

My client verbally accosted a female deputy at the Jai Alai room in Ft. Pierce. 10 days later my client shows up again at the Jai Alai room and phone calls were exchange between the deputy who was working the detail at Jai Alai that night and the female deputy who was working Road Patrol that night. A third deputy was Contacted by phone and followed my client for more than 12 minutes down I- 95 without pulling him over. The Deputy then decided to pull my client over for speeding on the exit ramp - which has been proven to be unenforceable as the speed limit sign was black and yellow which is a suggested speed and not an enforceable speed.
The deputy put on his blue lights and my client drove 9 miles to his house at which time he was tackled to the ground and struck in the jaw with a palm strike. The Female deputy arrived on scene within 1 minute 30 seconds of the call and as she was helping my client off the ground greeted him with a "Hi Mike!"

Much work yet to do but today's ruling is what puts "gas" in our tanks as a criminal defense attorneys!
