Breakthrough Church

Breakthrough Church, Juneau Alaska announces the installation of Sherry Patterson as Pastor of Breakthrough Church on Saturday, Oct 4, 2025 at 5:00pm. The installation service will take place at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, where Breakthrough Church holds its weekly worship services.

Pastor Sherry and her young family arrived in Juneau in December 1986 as interim leaders of New Shiloh Baptist Outreach Church, a ministry planted in Juneau by parent church, Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Anchorage.

Prior to arriving in Juneau, the Pattersons established a ministry in Delta Junction Alaska, for nearly 3 years ministering primarily to military families in neighboring Fort Greeley, Alaska.

Pastoral ministry in Juneau continued for 10 years. For the last almost 30 years, Pastor Sherry has been a vital part of the Christian community and community at large in Juneau. She has served as elder and worship leader at Breakthrough Church. Pastor Sherry is an accomplished vocalist, speaker and community leader.

Pastors Daymond and Jenny Geary will lead the special service. Thank you for your prayers as Breakthrough Church continues transitioning into where God is leading in this exciting season.

Pastor Sherry is mom to two adult children, and Grammy to two grandchildren.
