Hopping on the #2016 throwback trend train. I can’t believe this was 10 years ago now — and American Idol was 12 (I am old 🙂‍↔️)! I wrote “Rio Grande” after tour, when I realized how magical the Indio desert was when the sun goes down and the moonlight glitters on the sand. I learned a lot about myself and my voice after traveling the U.S. and Canada, and not a day goes by that I’m not grateful for this crazy journey that is my life. I’ve seen and experienced so much, and this was all by the age of 25-26. I also remember this specific photoshoot by Mark Dauber and his amazing wife, Margaret; many “props” were had (that’s slang for “glasses of wine”). Although I listen back with a critical ear and can definitely hear where I could have done better, it’s nice to reminisce on this time in my life and remember what got me to where I am today. Who’d’ve thunk? It just goes to show that you’re exactly where you need to be and your future is continuously being written. Carpe Diem. ❤️
