UAS Campus Conservatives

Today I found out that my Power and Privilege Symposium topic submission was denied. It was titled "When Professors are Wrong" in which the topic of UAS professors perpetuating a false narrative concerning Governor Dunleavyʼs original budget cut proposal to the University fo Alaska would be discussed.The primary goal was to group think ways in which students can and are allowed to hold professors accountable when they present inaccurate sattistics especially when they always already have a position of power and privileged over students? There logic for denial was: "As the Symposium is an educational opportunity for students, the presenter will need to find a faculty sponsor, despite graduate status." I literally asked 5 different professors if they were interested in the topic and I was told they were not. This is without-doubt, another example of institutional bias towards conservative topics.
