𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐚, 𝐎𝐑: The deadline for outdoor burning ends on 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟑𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝟔:𝟎𝟎 𝐩.𝐦. Recent weather has not been sufficient to reduce drought effects or prevent fires from escaping. ⁣

Please use caution when burning before the deadline: clear an area around piles, monitor, and have water and tools onsite. Ensure the fire is completely out to prevent any rekindles.

The Southbound lanes of Highway 99 are closed just South of first Avenue due to a vehicle pedestrian crash. Traffic is flowing through the center lane, please use caution. This is expected to be an extended closure.

ODOT, LCSO, OSP and JCPD are on scene.

From 8am until around 12pm, smoke and flames will be visible in the area of Dane Lane, between Deal and Lovelake. We are conducting a training burn on a donated structure.

This is a unique and invaluable opportunity given to our agency by the landowner. This allows our recruits, volunteers and career firefighters an opportunity to work on fire suppression techniques in a controlled environment
