Are there certain bad habits or patterns in your life that you just can't seem to shake? There may be a deeper issue keeping you from experiencing the freedom God has for you.

Many of us try to change our behavior without ever addressing the root of the problem. Things like unforgiveness, wounds from the past, misplaced identity, or distorted views of God can quietly keep us stuck in cycles we were never meant to live in.

Restoration gives us the tools to go back and look at our foundation. In order to move forward with life-giving habits, we must first find where we got off track. Only from there can we start to heal from the hurt in our lives.

In order to get free from a religious orphan spirit, we need to be able to get to know God. How do we do that? We develop a secret relationship with the Him. We say “secret” because this part is not for others to see. If your relationship only kicks in around other people, then it is probably rooted in performance. Real relationships exist even when nobody else is around. So what does a secret relationship look like? There is not a checklist for this. It looks different for different people. But here are a few elements that are essential:

-Talk to him when you’re alone.
-Spend time together.
-Learn more about him. (get in the Word)
-Listen for His voice.
-Be willing to lay down your old way of doing things.
-Look for ways to bless Him.
-Ask Him for help.
