The L C Ranch barnyard rumors are true. Uma the wonder horse is confirmed in foal to Silver Tongue 😈 (STD). The old man still had one good swimmer.

Cowpup Ike says 90° is almost too hot for working cows. I agree, that's why I'm sitting in the shade with a cold beverage.
It has been a while since I posted an update, so here you go.
It's that time of year to wean calves, and today was the day. I took cowdogs Tack, D**e and Sioux up to the summer place and gathered our little bunch. Then we sorted the cows off and brought the calves and bull home. It will be noisy around here the next few days, but the calves look good and this evening they are hardly noticing that their moms are missing. By tomorrow they will be bawling nonstop, craving the warm milk in their bellies. The cows likewise will be lamenting the loss of their calves, and complaining about the discomfort of their full udders, but those fetuses they are carrying will soon enjoy the lack of competition from a 7 month old sibling sucking momma down. I will soon enjoy meals provided by an unwilling donation of mountain oysters as the bull calves are converted to steers. The cycle continues.
