One thing I’ve learned over the past year working in community and economic development is that people are always watching.

When a business is considering investing in a community, they don’t just look at population numbers, traffic counts, or available buildings. They look at us. They read our social media posts. They read our comments. They pay attention to how we talk about our towns, our businesses, and our neighbors.

That doesn’t mean we should ignore problems or avoid sharing honest feedback. Every customer has a right to share their experience, and every resident has a right to voice their opinion. Communities grow when people care enough to speak up.

But there’s a difference between constructive feedback and constant negativity.

If every conversation about our community becomes a complaint, if every success is met with criticism, or if we only highlight what’s wrong while ignoring what’s right, we’re helping create a story about our hometown that others begin to believe.

The truth is that Lawrence County is filled with hardworking people, dedicated business owners, volunteers, educators, first responders, community leaders, and neighbors who care deeply about where they live. We have challenges, just like every community does, but we also have a lot to be proud of.

Before hitting “post,” ask yourself: Am I helping solve a problem, or am I simply adding to the noise?

The story of our community is being written every day. Let’s make sure we’re telling the whole story.

Spent part of the day at the air & car show in Paragould today, and despite the heat on that apron, moments like this make it worth it.

Seeing the American flag come soaring in from the sky was one of those sights that just makes you stop for a second and take it all in. Between the classic cars, aircraft, and aviation displays, there were some seriously cool rides and good people enjoying the day.

Definitely a hot one in Northeast Arkansas today, but a great event nonetheless. ✈️🇺🇸
