Some heroes wear capes. Others create them for children who’ve spent their lives feeling invisible. Joshua Leonard is turning kids with special needs into superheroes through animation, and honestly, that kind of creativity hits deeper than most people realize. Because for many of those children, this may be the first time they truly get to see themselves as powerful.
That’s what makes art important—it changes how people see themselves. Instead of being defined by limitations, these kids become stars of their own stories. Strong. Brave. Celebrated. And the smiles that come from that kind of representation? You can’t fake that. It reminds people that imagination can heal confidence in ways the world often forgets.
And maybe that’s the real superpower here—not the animation itself, but giving children a reason to believe they belong in the spotlight too. 🦸🏾♂️✨

Reflecting on the past year, I've discovered that staying true to my purpose has been a powerful catalyst for growth and opportunity. By embracing my calling, I've found that doors have swung open, and I've gained a deeper understanding that fear often holds us back from realizing our full potential. Sharing my story has had a profound impact, inspiring countless young minds and reaffirming my goal of making a difference in the lives of others. My aim has always been to touch one life, and in doing so, fulfill my higher purpose.

When I heard this young man, , had read The Making of a Superhero: From the Projects to Purpose 3–4 times and wanted a signed copy, it humbled me for real.
So it was an automatic YES.
I had to show love the right way, signed book, poster, new cover edition, and a T-shirt. Just my way of saying thank you for real support.
That’s what 1or100 means to me. If just 1 person is impacted, inspired, or reminded that their story still has purpose, then it was all worth it.
Now go write your own superhero story.
Your name belongs in it.

When I heard this young man, Gabriel, had read The Making of a Superhero: From the Projects to Purpose 3–4 times and wanted a signed copy, I was truly humbled. As an author, moments like that hit different. You never fully know how far your words will travel or whose life they may touch, but when somebody connects with your story like that, it means everything.
So it was an automatic YES.
I wanted to show love the right way. A signed book, poster, new cover edition, and a T-shirt — not because I had to, but because real support deserves real appreciation. When people pour into what God placed in you, you should never take that lightly.
That’s what 1or100 means to me. If just 1 person is impacted, inspired, encouraged, or reminded that their past does not define their purpose, then it was all worth it. Every struggle. Every lesson. Every chapter.
The Making of a Superhero was written for people who need to know that their pain is not the end of their story. That setbacks don’t disqualify you. That purpose can still rise out of the hardest places.
So now I leave you with this: go write your own superhero story. Be bold enough to own your journey, your scars, your growth, and your purpose.
Because your name belongs in it.

Superhero Family Day: A Vision Realized
Giving back and collaborating with local leaders and organizations has always been a dream of mine. On Superhero Family Day, that dream became reality right before my eyes.
I’ve never been motivated by politics or money. What matters most are the actions we take and the people who genuinely show up to do the work. That’s where real change happens. That’s how communities grow stronger.
This event wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support and teamwork from:

A special thank you to every individual who took the time to speak to our kids. Your words, wisdom, and encouragement left a lasting impression and helped make this day truly special. You showed our youth what’s possible and inspired them to dream bigger.
Thank you for pouring your energy, time, and love into our youth. The smiles, the laughter, and the unity we witnessed meant everything, not just to the kids, but to me personally.
We’re building something powerful together. This is just the beginning.
