The Organic inspection went well. I may over share …. Just keep scrolling if it’s too much. . .

It was just a lot of work and taxing for my farmer. I hated watching him go through it. The process made him feel badly. The records he didn’t have, or had to go look for. It took extra time and, again he felt badly. There were things that happened last year that we reached out to the right Agencies to get help. And it’s still unclear, but we were given wrong information. So that will probably be written up.
As a farm that cares deeply about the environment and conservation I found this very frustrating.
My farmer and everyone here works so hard. He cares deeply about the quality of milk he ships and the care of the animals. But that doesn’t really matter unless you have the dates that each calf was dehorned and all the feed records of each day and how much feed was fed, what pasture they were in and how long. It just seems to me that there is an incredible amount of record keeping, expectations, and rules… And then, we still have to pay for the certification.
I understand the need for parameters. I definitely support that. There just seems to be an overkill.
I have felt badly for charging so much for, grass fed, Organic raw milk.
I believe that has officially changed. The amount of work that goes into this certification justifies the cost.
