Happy Birthday America.... Just thought you should know

Two hundred fifty years of dawns
have risen over a nation built from breath and bravery—
a quilt of rebellions, hymns, and hands
that believed freedom could be shaped
from ordinary people daring extraordinary dreams.

But history is never only sunlight.
It keeps its storms, its frost,
Its cold machinery that forgets
the warmth of the human pulse.

And somewhere during the long arc of years,
a new kind of "ICE" formed—
not the natural kind born of winter,
but a symbolic frost of fear and fracture,
a chill that crept into the margins
where families stand, where borders breathe,
where dignity asks to be recognized.

In your telling, this "ICE" became a stain—
a cold imprint on the pages of a nation
that once promised refuge,
that once swore liberty was a lantern
bright enough for every wandering soul.

Yet even frost can melt.
Even the hardest winter yields
to the insistence of spring.

So, on this 250th year,
you lift a torch—
a human torch, a moral torch—
and hold it to the frozen places,
letting the flame of compassion
soften what history has hardened.

Because independence is not a date.
It is a practice.
A vow renewed each generation
to keep freedom warm,
to keep justice, awake,
to keep humanity from turning to "ICE".

the nation is reminded:

and the thaw has already begun.
