When I told my kids that the hay delivery was coming on a weekday, they asked to stay home to help. They saw it as a day to skip school. But it turned into exactly what Jennie and I hoped. A renewed interest in the barn. A solid day of work with the kids, me, Jennie, and my dad brought us closer. Now we embrace the chaos of Hay Day.

Watching three generations of us sweat it out together got me thinking about Father’s Day, and all the lessons my dad tried to hammer into my head when I was younger. Back then, I didn’t want to hear it. He’d talk about the value of a hard day's work, doing things right the first time, and taking pride in what you build even when nobody is watching. It took me becoming a dad myself to realize he was just handing me the blueprint to being a man. Now, I find myself passing those exact same lessons down to my own kids.

That commitment to doing things right without taking shortcuts is the main reason I’m so proud to be a part of BRUNT. We don't just build our boots and apparel to survive a heavy workday; we build them to honor that old-school tradition of hard work and resilience that our dads passed down to us.
