Get Up

I told myself it's time to get up
I've drowned in the pain of grief
Sat in the hurt like a midnight sky
Mistakenly, turned on the switch for sorrow

Poured rivers of tears that turned into streams
Yelled and screamed as if the house was caught on fire
Yet still, I told myself to get up!

Voice of the enemy be silenced!
My God is greater than any trial that I face

Like a baby getting on its knees to crawl
I struggled to learn how to crawl again
While on my knees I shouted to the Lord in prayer...

"Heavenly Father! Please, save me from myself
Birth something new in me, put me back together again
I need you Lord to shatter my will so that Thy Will, will be done
In Jesus name Amen!"

No more crowering in the shadows in fear
For fear that my gifts might be seen
In a world where there's more filters for pictures

But no filter on what comes out of our mouths
Where to be different is somehow a cause to be mocked
Yet still, I told myself to get up

Voice of the enemy be silenced!
My God is greater than any trial that I face

Get up out of the shame, we all make mistakes
Get up on your feet, we all fall sometimes
Dry your weary eyes, the sun has risen again
You're blessed to see a new day

In a spectacular way, Gods still not done with you
🎤 He's still working on us, to make us what we ought to be 🎶

I'm walking out of this ungodly soul wrenching pit
