The Ottawa County Road Commission (OCRC) has scheduled the construction of the roundabout at the intersection of Baldwin Street and 48th Avenue. The Contractor intends to begin work starting on Monday, July 27, 2026. It is currently anticipated that work on the roundabout project will conclude on or around September 3, 2026.

Please note that the intersection of Baldwin Street and 48th Avenue will be closing to all traffic on or around Monday, July 13, 2026 for work on the 24-inch Transmission Main project that is currently underway along 48th Avenue between Port Sheldon Street and Baldwin Street.

Work on the roundabout project consists of removing the existing roadway approximately 500 feet to 700 feet in all directions from the center of the intersection, excavating and constructing the new roadway alignment in each approach of the intersection, installing storm sewer drainage pipes, pouring concrete curb and the center island of the roundabout, paving the new asphalt surface, driveway approaches, and placing permanent signing and pavement markings.

The fishing bridge at the 8th Avenue Park is currently closed in preparation for its replacement. Please do not use this structure in the meantime. Replacement is scheduled for July. Thank you for your assistance in keeping everyone safe!
