Dzień dobry friends! I wanted to introduce you to Sandra. She is a Jr. this year in her high school in Poland and is dreaming about spending her grade 12 in the U.S. next year. She sounds like quite a remarkable young women who has strong language skills in both English and Spanish. She has a passion for music, studying both voice and piano, and hopes to participate in a choir during her time here. Sandra is also a Christian and says that attending services while she is here is important to her. Here's a brief introduction that Sandra wrote for you to read:

"Music is my life. The thing I love most is singing. I take classical singing lessons, although I’m mostly into metal and rock. I often go to concerts with my parents or friends, I think it’s great to see your favorite bands live! I also take piano classes, because I would like to be able to compose my own music. My dream is to have a band in the future and to perform professionally. I like English and Spanish. My goal is to be fluent in them. I like to watch American series and I used to be a big fan of Mexican soap operas - that’s how started my experience with learning Spanish. I like to travel too, until now I’ve been to 13 European countries. My biggest dream is to visit U.S.A or
Mexico, and now I can make one of them come true! Psychology is also my thing. I’m emphatic, people’s behaviour interests me. Plus, I enjoy healthy lifestyle. 5 months ago I decided to become vegetarian. I watched a film showing how the animals are treated and I’ve
seen their tears before getting killed. It touched me."

I really believe that Sandra would thrive in our area. Students come with strong English skills, health insurance, and spending money from home. All they need is a family (Singles, families with kids, empty nesters - all can be great!) who will love, encourage, and support them, provide 3 meals a day and a bedroom (can even be a shared bedroom with another same gendered teenager), and transportation to/from school. This could be the year that you say "Yes" to the life changing experience of hosting an international student.
