Most people with back pain are asking the wrong question.

They ask, “What exercise should I do?”
“What stretch fixes this?”
“What program do I need?”

But that skips the most important step: what is actually causing your pain?

If you do not know the mechanism, you are guessing. And guessing is why people stay stuck for years, sometimes decades, bouncing from random stretches, generic rehab plans, and exercises that may be feeding the exact problem they are trying to fix.

Back pain is not cookie-cutter. Flexion intolerance, extension intolerance, compression sensitivity, shear, instability, nerve involvement, and other drivers can all present differently. What helps one person may light another person up.

The goal is pattern recognition. What causes your pain? What relieves it? What positions, loads, and movements consistently create symptoms?

Once you know the driver, then you can build the plan.
