Architect Taylor Hardwick spent five years ensuring the design and construction of the Haydon Burns Library in Downtown Jacksonville was just right, finishing in 1965. A facade of glass, tile mosaic, and hard angles, the 126,000 sq foot building was a stunning statement of architecture and detail. The library moved a few blocks away in 2005, and the building was largely shuddered until 2015, when The Jessie opened its doors - fully renovated in spectacular fashion, but keeping its authentic Hardwick aesthetic.

Happy to attend the ribbon cutting event this morning at the North Florida School of Special Education to celebrate the renovations of the buildings that now house their microenterprise programs. Robbins Design Studio provided architectural design services for the renovation of the old 2-story Lee and Cates office building into the new Berry Good Blooms floral art studio and the Art with Soul pottery and art studio! We love working with the NFSSE and continuing to support this essential local non-profit.
