Team Next Up

Today was bigger than basketball.

Team Next Up had the opportunity to volunteer at the Exchange Club helping sort donations for families affected by the Brantley wildfire. For some of our players, this was their very first time ever doing community service. At first, a few of them didn’t fully understand why we were there, but once we talked about the importance of helping others and giving back to the community when people are in need, everything changed.

Watching these young men come together, sort clothes, work as a team, laugh together, and genuinely enjoy helping others was such a proud moment. It reminded them that service matters and that sometimes the smallest acts can make a huge difference for someone else.

We always tell our players that while we are thankful for the people who support and donate to Team Next Up, we also have a responsibility to pour back into the community too. Leadership is not just about what happens on the court. It is about character, compassion, and showing up for others.

After volunteering, we took the team to Alpine Village where they were each able to cool off with their own icy and celebrate the hard work they put in today.

One of the most respected and influential high school basketball reporters in Georgia took notice of TWO of our Team Next Up players at the tournament.
