Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King’s legacy for justice against oppression, his service and sacrifice is one we cannot match but we can mimic. In a selfish world we can focus on ourselves and our own desires. But in a world where the tenets of Dr. King abounds requires us to focus on loving others and being a service for the greater good!

Some choose this as a day to volunteer to do something good for their community or support others at a parade. Might we suggest something even greater? Let’s be a service to one another daily instead. To be a greater nation sharing love as a gift to one another to overcome hate, to overcome selfishness and to overcome all that keep us separate and focused on things that divide us and not bring us closer in unity. “There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must take it because conscience tells him it is right.” There is never a time when doing the right thing is wrong. Let's continue the legacy of Dr. King by being persistent in doing the right thing! Love was his reason let's make it ours. Yes, it's hard but like Dr. King, if it was easy...Where would we be today?
