📍The Necessity of Godly Submission and Spiritual Discernment:

If you cannot submit to a truly anointed man of God whom God has placed in your life, you are more likely submitting to another power, your own fallen self.

By “anointed,” I do not mean someone who merely possesses a title, occupies a religious position, or claims spiritual authority. I mean one who is genuinely filled with, governed by, and working through the Spirit of Jesus Christ. Therefore, submitting to a truly anointed shepherd is not blind submission to a man; it is recognizing and yielding to the authority, truth, and shepherding of Christ working through him.

Satan works through the fallen, unregenerate nature of man, strengthening pride, rebellion, self-will, and independence from God. From the beginning, he has tempted mankind to reject God’s Word and order and to become a law unto themselves. God has appointed true, anointed shepherds to care for His people, watch over their souls, feed them with the living Word of God, and prepare them to enter His Kingdom.

📌Jeremiah 3:15 declares
And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.

📌Hebrews 13:17 declares
Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account.

True shepherds do not draw people away from Christ or make people dependent upon themselves. They lead the sheep closer to Jesus, teach them the truth, guard them from deception, and prepare them to know and obey the voice of the Chief Shepherd.

📌1 Peter 5:2–4 declares
Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock; and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away.

I know there are countless reports, even in the news, concerning false shepherds who are greedy, abusive, manipulative, sexually immoral, and concerned only with money and power. Jesus Himself warned that such counterfeits would arise.

📌Matthew 7:15 declares
Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

Yet, as with everything precious on this earth, counterfeits often hide among the genuine. Gold is hidden among the sands and soil of the earth, but the presence of dirt does not mean genuine gold does not exist. In the same way, the existence of false shepherds does not mean that true, anointed shepherds no longer exist.

God still calls, fills, anoints, and sends faithful shepherds after His own heart. This calls for discernment on your part. You must be led by the Word of Truth and by the Spirit of Truth so that you may recognize whom God is truly in and working through for your spiritual care, protection, growth, and maturity.

📌John 16:13 declares
When He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth.

📌1 John 4:1 declares
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God.

📌Matthew 7:20 declares
Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

Do not wander as Eve and Cain did.

Eve wandered from the Word of God by entertaining the voice of the serpent. Cain rejected God’s correction, hardened his heart, departed from the presence of the Lord, and became a fugitive and a wanderer.

📌Genesis 4:12 declares
A fugitive and a vagabond you shall be on the earth.

Do not become a spiritual wanderer or a lost sheep that has strayed from the fold and shepherding care of Jesus Christ.

📌John 10:11 declares
I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.

Ravenous wolves remain near straying sheep, waiting for an opportunity to seize, scatter, kill, steal, and destroy.

📌John 10:10 declares
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.

📌John 10:12 declares
The wolf catches the sheep and scatters them.

📌1 Peter 5:8 declares
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

Remain close to Jesus Christ, the Chief Shepherd. Remain established in His Word.Remain sensitive and obedient to the Spirit of Truth.Remain in fellowship with faithful believers.Remain under the care of the true, anointed shepherds whom Christ has appointed.

The Lord gives apostles, prophets, evangelists, shepherds, and teachers not to replace Christ, but to reveal Him, equip His people, protect His flock, and bring the Church into unity and spiritual maturity.

📌Ephesians 4:11–13 declares
And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.

To reject a genuine shepherd because counterfeit shepherds exist is not discernment. Discernment distinguishes the false from the true. It does not reject everything God has established because some have corrupted it.

Know the voice of Christ. Test the fruit. Judge according to the Word of God. Follow those who follow Christ, and do not allow pride, fear, offense, rebellion, or past wounds to turn you into a wandering sheep outside the safety of His fold-Evg.Samuel Meesala
