Happy Independence Day from the Jackson Police Department!
This year is especially meaningful as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our nation's founding. We are proud to be part of the ongoing story of this great country and grateful for the community we serve.

The Decades of America Parade will take place on Friday, July 3, beginning at 5:00 p.m.
Parade Route
• Starts at the intersection of Jefferson Street and South High Street
• Ends near Union Avenue
Parking Restrictions
To ensure the safety of spectators and parade participants, parking will be restricted beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Friday on the following streets:
• Both sides of South High Street from West Madison Street to West Main Street
• Both sides of West Main Street from Union Avenue to South High Street
Any vehicles remaining in these restricted areas after 3:00 p.m. will be towed at the owner's expense.
Normal parking regulations will resume immediately following the parade.
Please use caution and be mindful of increased pedestrian and vehicle traffic after the event. Thank you for your cooperation, and we wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend!

The Jackson Police Department is looking for individuals to join our team who exemplify honor, integrity, and respect. We offer the Police Recruit Program that allows those who are not academy trained, licensed police officers to be sent to the police academy, at no cost to the police recruit-plus receive a salary and benefits as specified contractually**. After successfully graduating from the police academy, recruits then advance to the position of police officer and will receive a raise.
Incentives:
Starting salary $50,691
Increased starting salary with experience
12-hour shifts, off every other weekend

** The contractual agreement requires the Jackson Police Department be reimbursed for training and other related costs in the event employment is voluntarily or involuntarily terminated for good cause prior to the expiration of a three-year period from the date of hire.
Candidates must be 21 years of age at the time of employment, have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and be a U.S. citizen. Applicants will not be hired if they have any felony or serious misdemeanor convictions or convictions involving moral turpitude. Must be committed to the philosophy of community-oriented policing.
