We had the best time at Kids Day in Fort Hall last month! Put on by the Shoshone Bannock Tribes Tribal Health & Human Services and the Waapi Kani Mental Wellness & Recovery Services, kids were able to stretch their legs, hearts, and minds in a day bursting with fun and absolutely infectious laughter. Understanding the natural world can grow confidence and support mental well-being, so we hope our station helped further connect kids and families with nature and the wildlife in their backyard!
With Super Mario on the mind, we were inspired by the bright, welcoming, exploratory essence of the day and of these young learners. Everyone needs a home and they discovered that habitat needs are common to all of us, but the places each species can find them can be different. Everybody needs a home but what makes a good home for wildlife and how can we protect it?
The hot, sunny day was full of learning, energy, and enthusiasm... Just the kind of day to end with squeals of delight from kids running under the cool sprays of the firehose held aloft by the fire crew on their engine. ♥️
