Tom Dreesen: He was named “The Master, Master of Ceremonies” by Frank Sinatra – with whom he toured as his show opener – for 14 years. Having attended many charity events – of which he hosted, my husband, Greg and I would certainly agree.

Whether on stage or just hanging out, Comedian Tom Dreesen had a captivating way of storytelling – like no other.
One of the very best shows we ever saw was Tom performing “The Man Who Made Sinatra Laugh” – in which he humorously shared behind-the-scenes tour experiences and stories – making you feel like you were there – and you really wanted to be.

When an event/show was about to start, Tom – on stage – had a unique way of quieting down the room and gathering everyone’s attention – that we actually looked forward to. Holding the mic, he’d put his pointer finger to his lips and say “Shhh”. He would quietly and slowly do this – and only this – about three times. Then the room was quiet and all were seated in anticipation for the show that was about to begin.

We were so excited to see Tom – as the Tom we knew and loved – when he was a guest on Comics Unleashed – June 9th. This made it even more difficult to accept his passing away on June 17th.

Greg and I viewed Tom as that great guy who showed up to make himself useful with the best he had to offer – and he had a lot. Tom was a true American patriot – a U.S.Navy veteran who – with his charitable heart – served as an ambassador for the Gary Sinise Foundation - for 14 years. He advocated for fellow comedians – getting them paid for their performances at The Comedy Store. He was a beloved guest of late night television with David Letterman and appeared 60 times on Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show. He toured with Tim Reid as part of the first in*******al stand-up comedy duo “Tim and Tom” – and you can buy the book to read about their on-the-road adventures.

Our deepest condolences to Tom’s family, close friends and associates. We’re grateful to have had the opportunity to experience Tom – throughout the years – as we did.

My heartfelt “Thank You!” to Andrew Yelich for this treasured photo of me with Tom and his long-time great friend – and wonderful man – that we continue to have the pleasure of seeing at charity events – Joe Mantegna. In classic Tom fashion, he whispered “a rose between two thorns” right as this photo was about to be taken – a laugh and a moment to remember.

Once again, Greg and I are very much looking forward to The Warburton Celebrity Golf Tournament (16th Annual) – benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The first 15 years of this event raised a total of more than 38 million dollars!

Annually, (except for the one year COVID break) we’ve attended all three nights of The Warburton evening events, since 2018. We enjoy the great entertainment of every evening – and especially that of – where in 2025, we had the pleasure of listening to – and later meeting - . We love the music of Trannie and her friends – some of which comprise ’s album ( ) – and so many others. Also, it’s always a treat to be entertained by and Friends!

Each year, the silent auction offers so many unique items, experiences and opportunities. We treasure our winnings of songwriters’ hand written lyrics – of meaningful music - by performing artists we so much enjoy!

We’re off to another great time in !

Greg and I will always remember the great time we had - last year - at The Thalians “Holiday In Hollywood” Winter Gala - a fabulous “Night At The Hollywood Museum”, in the Historic Max Factor Building. We are so looking forward to this year’s Thalians “Hollywood Holiday” – benefiting UCLA Operation Mend - and this year, honoring Gary Sinise!
