Somedays behind the chair hit a little different. It’s an honor to be trusted with this particular haircut knowing my client has already begun her chemotherapy journey. Sending all of my love and strength to one of my forever favs 💕

I could have posed her perfectly by my ring light and backdrop. However, this woman has taught me so much about love and strength, I felt a perfectly curated photo wasn’t necessary. But what was necessary was the amount of hugs we gave each other 🥹

Happy Trichology Tuesday! I’ll go over some fun facts today 🫶🏻

1.) Hair Growth Rate: on average, hair grows at a rate of 0.35mm per day, which translates to about 1 cm per month and roughly 6 inches per year. This may vary slightly between individuals.

2.) Normal Shedding is 25 to 100 hairs per day. On a healthy scalp, it is normal to lose anywhere between 25 and 100 hairs per day, which is part of the natural hair growth cycle. This shedding is a sign that the hair growth cycle is functioning properly.

3.) The Scalp’s Microbiome: Our scalp hosts an incredibly unique microbiome. Each hair follicle has its own immune system and harbors bacteria and yeast that are specific to the scalp. This is due to the scalp’s relatively high pH, damp environment and protection from UV rays. Our scalp is complex and sophisticated!
