Apple has been busy working undercover on exciting technology for the next generation of their mobile devices.

It has been reported that based on new patent filings, the iPhone of the future could utilize digital buttons and icons on the “sides of the iPhone” as well as for the iPad. In addition to the digital buttons, the sides could also function as a slim display for generative contextual information. This would certainly be a new approach and user-interface.

These new patents also contain some other goodies, such as multiple cameras, display security features for dealing with prying eyes and - get this - a rollable iPhone.

With these technological plans on the drawing board for Apple’s mobile devices, we can only imagine what might be behind the iconic “one more thing” line made famous by the late Steve Jobs when introducing a new product.
