It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of Helga Hermine Tesar, who entered into the realm of the angels this morning at 5:12am. Our family gathered together around her yesterday evening to say our goodbyes and express our love for her. The ICU team and I stayed with her until her final breath, so she was never alone. I held all the strength and love of her kids, her grandkids and her friends with me in that room, and reminded her repeatedly how loved she is and how loved she will always be.

Thank you all for supporting my family during this impossible time. She would be grateful to know that we were held by so many. We are all so thankful she is able to be at peace, floating somewhere above us, within us and around us, for now until forever, smiling, laughing, yodeling and inspiring us to be better, to take care of ourselves and each other.

We enter this next phase with patience, with grace, with love and a deep appreciation for this glorious life.

This glorious, glorious life.

On August 17, Jeans Louise returns!

I’m so honored to have been invited by the great Starling My Darling and .starling.co to perform at this year’s Rendezvous Drag Cabaret! This is truly an all-stars lineup of Wyoming drag excellence and I’m so excited to squeeze back into Jeans and join these exceptional artists from across the state.

Jeans Louise made her debut in the musical “Cowboys Like Us” in October 2021, and, after a few brief appearances, made her big return hosting The Obscurium in April 2024 alongside local legends Anita Cupcake, Ranch, Dad Pitt, Big Timber, and of course, the legendary Raja Gemini.

Drag is ridiculous and beautiful and nonthreatening. The earliest documented appearance of a drag queen in Wyoming that I am aware of was in 1843 (See “Tumbleweed: Dispatches from the Inequality State” for more info), so it’s important to continue this art form and create space for individuals who love to perform good, stupid, ridiculous, saucy, heartfelt entertainment, and for audiences who enjoy experiencing it!

Jeans Louise ain’t goin’ nowhere.
And as a soft announcement, The Obscurium will return to the Pink Garter in 2026

đŸŽ” Deep in my heart is a song. đŸŽ”

I’m so honored to be a part of the 2nd Annual Wyoming Fringe Festival to reprise “Tumbleweed: Dispatches from the (in)Equality State,” a one-man show which tells the true story of how I came to terms with my sexuality and began advocating for others to do the same. This is the first time this piece will be performed in Wyoming and is now revised & updated with new material. I will perform it August 9 & 10, in partnership with in Casper, WY.

Through diary entries, monologues, scenes, archival recordings and music, the 60-min piece is a memoir in action, a confession of shame, and a celebration of personal (and cultural) pride. First performed in New York City as part of “Destiny Manifests”, a Wyoming artist showcase produced by Erin Roy , the personal nature of “Tumbleweed” offered a healing experience during a time of intense personal trauma and grief. Only a small handful of Jackson folks saw the show, which was performed four times in Chelsea in November 2019.

This production is the namesake of my nonprofit organization ; the core message of the show became our mission statement.

I’m still trying to muster up the courage to perform this show in Jackson, just because it’s extremely vulnerable and certainly way more dramatic than anything I’ve done before, but it’s creeping closer. We’ll see how August goes. Hope some of y’all can make it.
