"Through my communications work I aim to normalise the conversation about abortion.

When I had my abortion, most of the public narratives came from older women, which felt disconnected from my own reality.

Di Ramona has been able to refresh the abortion narrative in powerful ways, which keeps us close to younger communities. When we talk to young people, they recognise that we speak their language."

Roxana - Communications Coordinator at SAAF grantee partner Di RAMONA - a collective supporting access in Mexico 💚

Rest in Peace to Sam Nordquist 🏳️‍⚧️

Sam was a trans man whose life was tragically cut short due to severe violence. His story is not an isolated one—violence against transgender people, especially Black and Brown trans individuals, remains a crisis.

📢 The Reality:

In 2023 alone, at least 26 trans and gender-nonconforming people were reported killed in the U.S. – and many more cases go unreported.
Black trans women and trans men face disproportionate levels of violence and systemic neglect.
44% of trans people will experience intimate partner violence in their lifetime.
Gender justice must include ALL trans people. Trans men are often erased from conversations about gender-based violence and reproductive rights, but they, too, experience oppression, discrimination, and systemic barriers. Their stories deserve to be heard, their lives deserve protection, and their existence demands respect.

Honor Sam by fighting for a world where trans people can live freely, safely, and with dignity. 🏳️‍⚧️💜

“I had three abortions during my youth. Now I am 68, I don’t have children and I live a happy life!”
