Two Board Girls

Hi 👋🏽 It’s been a little quiet over here and we want to give a little insight to what we have going on.
Every year since we began TBG, our goal has been to make more, sell more, and enjoy more than the year before. That has held true every year, until now. We have been trying to give it some time to see if things would pick up, but sadly they have not.
Sales this year have significantly decreased, interactions on social media have declined substantially, and the interest for parties just isn’t there. You may be questioning why social media interaction is important and the answer is, for our small business social media was everything. We never developed a website (out side of Etsy) so the majority of our sales came directly from IG and fb.
We understand that other small businesses may be feeling the same pressure and it SUCKS. We have poured our hearts and souls into building this business that we both loved so much. Every year for the last 5 years we have filled our weekends and many weeknights with events, parties, and gatherings. But as of late, we’ve been struggling with the motivation, creativity, and desire to create.
Between house hunting, a new job, kids sports, family planning, and an intense desire to truly enjoy summer we have decided to step back from TBG at this time. We have changed our Etsy to vacation mode, we will not be taking orders, and we will not be attending any more events for the summer. At the end of the summer we will reevaluate where we are and make a decision accordingly for moving forward.
This decision hasn’t been easy as it means we’ll lose our spot in markets and lose the momentum we’ve built but we are thankful that this side hustle is exactly that, a side hustle. Meaning it doesn’t pay our bills so we are able to step away and come back when we feel the time is right. We hope that everyone who has supported and loved us over the last 5 years, understands and accepts us back when we are ready to return. We will still be cheering on and supporting all of our small business friends and will miss seeing their faces at all the local events.
As scary as it was to start this business it feels equally as scary to step away from the one thing that has held our attention and love for so long. Hopefully this isn’t a good bye, but a see you later! ♥️🫶🏼

A flower blooms for its own joy and we should let that be a testament to our own happiness. 💐
