Wawice Eugenia Palmer (Genie) was born in Gulfport, Mississippi on April 7, 1952, and passed away on October 15, 2022, in Greenville, Ms, after a lengthy illness. Genie was a graduate of Gulfport High School, attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, and graduated from Loyola University in New Orleans with a degree in Fine Arts. Despite a lifelong struggle with mental illness, Genie was steadfast in her love of God and his blessings, and found great enjoyment in sketching and painting. She was generous in sharing her artwork with friends, family and strangers. Genie found solace in her study of the Bible. She is predeceased by her parents Owen and Joanne Palmer of Gulfport. Genie is survived by her sister Jan Palmer Noll of Atlanta, niece Elizabeth Cunningham (AJ), nephew Owen Noll (Giselle) and 5 great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Warren Yazoo Behavioral Health(501(c)(3)). 3444 Wisconsin Avenue, Vicksburg, MS 39180 (Attn: Leigh Cook).
The attached photo of Genie was from her high school days. Back in those days she was Miss Gulfport High School.
Wanted the Trinity family to know that Mrs. Mary Jo Bennett went home to be with the Lord this morning. Will update when details about her funeral arrangements are known.
