We don't talk about gear very often. A skilled operator can get great results out of almost anything, and the tool itself rarely makes the story. That said, trying to drive a screw with a chainsaw is never ideal. It always comes down to having the right tool for the specific job.

If you are familiar with Myk's work, you know he naturally leans toward tight, macro framing. But a project occasionally demands a much wider perspective to serve the narrative properly. We used the recent Prime Day sales to step outside our usual cinema glass lineup and pick up a Viltrox 16mm f/1.8. The performance has been excellent.

It is a good reminder that shifting your visual perspective can completely change the energy of a project.
