The possibilities are endless when we think about the future. The communities we live in are constantly evolving, and our changemakers are constantly working to strengthen the sectors within them.

Ever wonder what it’s like to join a community of passionate changemakers? Our new fellows now know that feeling! 🎉
Last weekend, we welcomed our 2026 Cohort, and they got right to work the very next day at their first Local Change Lab!
We are so excited and energized by the storytelling and conversations we saw coming to life in Chicago, Detroit, Jackson, Memphis, and San Antonio.
During this Change Lab, fellows began workshopping their Civic Action Plans and discussed topics like healthy disagreement, vulnerability, and the power of imagination in creating lasting change.

We closed yesterday’s programming with an insightful conversation between Michael Morris (Director, ) and Frank Figgers (Civil Rights & Community Activist).
They highlighted Jackson’s pivotal role in the Civil Rights Movement. Mr. Figgers spoke about activists at Tougaloo College (an HBCU located in Jackson), which he says “rescued the Civil Rights Movement.”
He also uplifted the resiliency and determination of Mississippians who have worked to change the state for the better—even in the face of powerful, systemic oppression.
