My Wee Stitchers designed their own denim purses- most opting for fields of buttons AND got to sew on machines for first time as they stitched the straps. They also added backstitch to their stitch repitoire - AND concept of ‘ right sides together to stitch a seam’.
What thrilled them for ❤️ gift was getting to pick 10 buttons each from my button jar to take home. They learned buttons are ‘sew through’ or ‘shank’😀. Made me smile for 2 hours! I’m blessed to have this ‘work’ in my Senior years ☺️🪡🧵

“I can't figure out how to resend her text so copied her text.....First, I took some jeans, pillow
cases, and a button up striped
shirt. Next, I cut them up into
strips that have a little bit of
flare. Then, after I sewed the
strips together, I ripped the
strips apart to fit triangles to
give it more of a flare or more
of a shape. Then, I took the
rest of the jeans I had left over
and made a band and put in
elastic and fixed it to my size
Finally, I made them hem.I
loved doing it because of the
creativity that it had and the
difficulty that had to fix up.”
