EAA Chapter 811

Chapter 811 has a Young Eagles Rally coming up on Saturday May 30th (rain date Sunday May 31st). As of today (Saturday, May 9th) we have 15 Young Eagles registered and six pilots (Tim Fallon, Chris Hansen, Mark Sanford and Art Snyder sharing one airplane, Jack Thompson, Jim Wells and me). Doug Binder has signed up to help as ground crew. If you can help out, either to fly or doing paperwork or safety briefings/preflight introductions on the ground, please let me know.

Dansville KDSV is a favorite destination for $100 Hamburgers. Recently the construction business just off the end of the runway 14 has started using 100' tall cranes directly in line with the runway, which poses a danger to landing aircraft. According to this story the airport has been closing the runway for up to three hours a day because of the cranes - but I'm not sure how you'd get that information. Maybe it's on the ASOS, but the story doesn't say. Pilots should be especially careful there until this situation is resolved.
