Just a reminder that ABQ: How Do We Disagree is tonight from 6-8pm. Hope to see you all there for some food and discussions!

On Monday, February 19 from 6-8 PM students are invited to Klingenstein Lounge for the third in a four-part Ask Big Questions Campus Conversations (ABQ) series.

Students will share a catered lasagna dinner and engage in a guided dialogue surrounding the question “How do we disagree?”.

Ask Big Questions’ three part model is deceptively simple, yet radically transformative:
1) Ask: How do you feel about interpersonal conflict?
2) Share: Participants share their individual stories surrounding their experience of disagreement-- both painful experiences and productive ones.
3) Do: Individuals create action steps for themselves and the larger community, based in their experience during the conversation.

Utilizing this model, ABQ participants engage in healthy, listening-focused and empathetic conversations about questions of meaning and values stretching beyond religion, politics, ethnicity, regionalism, and nationalism. ABQ creates a brave space for students to participate in deep reflection and active listening; resulting in an increased investment in the well-being of others across lines of difference. In fact 94% of participants in ABQ conversations report feeling more connected to their community after just one conversation.

What happens when we really listen to each other? We bridge community-eroding divides. We become healthier as individuals and communities. We take responsibility for and civic action on behalf of an expanded our definition of OUR community.
