Fully Off-Grid Super Class C

Here is a very cool off-grid electrical system we recently completed in a 2019 Renegade Veracruz 35FWS. The goal for this installation was to have little, to no restriction on energy usage while traveling full time.

We opted for a dual - 5000W Multiplus Inverter/Charger setup that will be able to supply enough power to use multiple large appliances simultaneously. We wired the Multis in series to achieve a 120/240V split phase to accommodate a mini split in the future.

We chose 3 - 48V 100Ah Lithium batteries that will primarily be used for energy storage for times when solar is not present. With nearly 15Kwh of capacity, you can easily operate off-grid for days, weeks, even months, under ideal conditions.

We used 8 x 400W Rich Solar Panels for a total of 3200W and the array fit very nicely on this particular roof layout. We elevated the panels about 10” and only added about 1.5” to the total height of the RV. The custom roof rack was made of aluminum unistrut and spans about 23ft.
