Vote YES for the MultiCultural Center to continue providing an inclusive space at UCSB and a broad spectrum of educational events advocating for social justice. The MCC serves as a bridge for the entire campus community by recognizing the need to cater to diverse identities and value orientations, building coalitions among student groups, as well as increasing communication among people of different cultures and backgrounds.
In its 30th year, the MCC continues to reflect its original mission of serving as a space that was established BY, and FOR, students to provide a welcoming, safe space to fight all forms of discrimination and oppression. Moreover, the MCC strives to ensure that students have the resources and services to thrive by offering free event spaces and AV support for student organizations, free food and refreshments during study jams, student jobs, and User Group event funding. Your support will also help continue the operation of our 150-seat theater, lounge and study space, meeting room, and kitchen which are all open for student use.
By reaffirming the MCC’s lock-in fees of $3.72 per quarter, your fees will continue to support over 100 events and programs per year which are open to the general public. Voting YES to reaffirm the MCC’s lock-in fees will continue your fee contribution that already supports the MCC with no increase to the fees you already pay!

The MCC's 6th Annual Social Justice Conference (SJCON) is taking place Saturday, April 20th! We highly encourage you all to attend and take part in a day-long series of workshops and presentations.
As past conferences responded to the cultural and political climate that followed in the wake of the election of the current administration, this year’s SJCON, Engaging the Past, Envisioning Our Future, imagines a future that stands on the foundation of developing and maintaining supportive relationships that uplift the struggles and victories of marginalized communities. To make this happen, the work we do in our communities cannot stand alone; we must tap into the knowledge and network of a collective effort across communities. This conference seeks to center joint historical efforts of past activists, alternative forms of activism in the current moment, and future visions of what collaborations between communities can look like.
To attend this year's conference, please RSVP here:

Because we already offer reward points for attendance of regular MCC events, SJCON will count for even more points!
Attendees from User Groups will earn their group 12 points per person, with a minimum of 2 attendees and a maximum of 6. The maximum does not mean only 6 members of your group can attend, but does mean that your group can only earn points for up to 6 attending members.
SJCON is also a student run event which means it requires volunteers. Volunteers from User Groups will earn their group 10 points per person, with a maximum of 3 volunteers. The maximum does not mean only 3 members of your group can volunteer, but does mean that your group can only earn points for up to 3 volunteering members. Additionally, we are willing to sign off on community service hours.
