Laguna Beach at sunset — where the sky melts from soft gold into deep amber, and the Pacific turns into liquid glass.

Palms stand in silhouette, gently framing the horizon, while the ocean stretches endlessly beyond, calm and unbothered. The infinity pool mirrors the fading light, blending sea and sky into one quiet masterpiece.

This is that Laguna moment — still, warm, and effortlessly coastal.

🎬 Is Hollywood Really Moving Away from California?

New data shows a quiet but serious shift in where movies and TV shows are being made — and California is no longer the obvious winner.

In Q4 2025, several states saw major growth in film and TV production, while California continued to lose volume even after expanding tax incentives.

📉 California (year over year)

• Projects down 20% (to 71)
• Production spending down 22% (to $1.35B)
➡️ Still #1 overall, but clearly losing momentum.

📈 Who’s gaining?

New Jersey
• Projects +75% (to 21)
• Spending +12% (to $344M)
➡️ Aggressive tax credits + fast permitting = big pull.

Illinois
• Projects +70% (to 17)
• Spending +46% (to $240M)
➡️ One of the fastest-growing production hubs right now.

New York
• Projects +31% (to 63)
• Spending +31% (to $1.07B)
➡️ New York is now very close to California in total production scale.

🇺🇸 Overall U.S. trend (Q4 2025)

• Total filming activity −4%
• Total production spending −8% (≈ $4.2B)

So while the U.S. market slowed slightly overall, production isn’t disappearing — it’s relocating.

💬 Your take:
Is Hollywood actually moving east — or is this just a temporary reshuffle driven by tax incentives and cost pressure in California?
