Learning Lab Preschool
As part of our “Flowers” theme, the children participated in a hands-on activity that supported early literacy and fine motor development. While creating their own flowers, they practiced recognizing letters and spelling their names by selecting and arranging each letter in sequence. This experience encouraged name recognition, letter-sound awareness, and early writing skills in a meaningful and engaging way. The children also strengthened their fine motor coordination as they handled and placed materials, all while expressing creativity and taking pride in their work.
In Ms. Rebekah and Ms. Jackie’s class, we participated in a sensory-rich science activity focused on caring for our environment. The children observed a tub of clean water with pretend sea life and then explored what happens when pollution is introduced. Through this interactive experience, students practiced problem-solving and critical thinking as they worked together to “clean” the sea life. Scrubbing the fish helped strengthen fine motor control and coordination.
Throughout the week, we emphasized the importance of taking care of God’s creation by keeping our environment clean. The children practiced responsibility by learning to properly dispose of trash, helping them understand how their actions can protect the Earth and all living things.🌎🤍🌊🐠
