Your Custom Ceremony

When someone interrupts or chimes in during a ceremony, calling them out almost always makes it worse.

I don’t shut people down.
I use a soft interrupt.

It acknowledges them without embarrassment and gently brings the focus back to the couple.

Most of the time, that’s all it takes.

Tomorrow I’ll share the one question couples don’t usually ask their officiant that could prevent this entirely.

Parents usually aren’t trying to cause problems during a ceremony.

They care deeply and think they’re protecting the day.

The key is giving them a role without handing over control.
