FC honors students awarded at research conference in UC Irvine Honors students represent Fullerton College by presenting their research-based work at the annual HTCC Conference in UC Irvine.

HTCC Director's Award: John Oakes, Grossmont College

John Oakes was the founding director of the Honors Program at Grossmont College for the past 13 years and a professor of chemistry and physics for 32 years. He’s authored 10 books and one textbook, “Introduction to Scientific Thought.” He’s lectured in more than 70 countries and at more than 40 universities around the world. He’s served as the Scholarship Chair of the Honors Transfer Council of California for the past ten years.

We have been blessed to work with John for all of these years and honored to be able to recognize his accomplishments to honors education with this award.
