A brief time in the Word with Pastors Tim and Brandie Manigault

“You cannot carry offense and the cross at the same time.”

Today you get to make a choice: are you going to continue to carry offense, hurt, and bitterness or will you lay it all down, let it go and walk in freedom?

In case you need help choosing… choose freedom! It feels so much better.

During much of the 10 Days of Awe we focus on forgiving others. Today we want to give tools to those who may be struggling to receive forgiveness.

Here’s a brief teaching from our friend Josiah.

Jesus became the snake in the garden so you could be seated at the right hand of the Father.
He took the curse so you could carry the crown.
He became sin so you could become the righteousness of God.

When the lies say:
“you’re a failure, you’re a mess, look at the damage”
the voice of God answers:
You are my righteous son.
You are my righteous daughter.

Proverbs 28:1 declares:
“The wicked flee though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.”

This is the Gospel.
Not shame.
Not fear.
Sonship.
Righteousness.
Authority.

Today we pray for you. We pray that you would know peace. Peace with your God and peace with yourself. At the core of that peace is remembering what Jesus did in the cross was not just for the world, but it was for you.
