I know what you are thinking. Whyyyy can’t you just come to Iowa City more often? Transporting thousands of dumplings safely is logistically very complex and incredibly stressful. I’m working on ways to make this more feasible.

Have you ever seen The Bear? There is that scene in season 1 where they turn on their online ordering system and all of the tickets start coming in at once and you can just hear the non-stop churning of the printer while the kitchen crew scrambles to do the impossible. If you’ve ever worked in a kitchen, you know the overwhelming, paralyzing, yet thrilling feeling that this brings. Last night, we felt like we lived this episode.

Thank you to all of you who came out to get dumplings. You waited in a long line. Some of you drove across the state and even from other states just to be there. You waited hours for your food. Some of you never got the chance to place an order. We were blown away by your patience and kindness despite all of this.

We had the very best crew imaginable last night and everyone worked incredibly hard to get orders out as quickly and smoothly as possible. It wasn’t an easy task and it was far from perfect but I am so proud and grateful for everyone who helped out. Even so, we are sorry if we let you down.

A huge thank you to Goosetown Iowa City for being the very best friends and partners in crime through all of this. They have built the most beautiful space with the best vibes and we hope to see it used, loved, and appreciated for other events like ours in the coming months.

I have been asked countless times if we will be doing this again. Right now my answer is, “I’m not ready to talk about it yet”. I’ll let you know when I am.

PORK & CABBAGE DUMPLINGS 🥟

This has always been our most popular dumpling and since announcing this pop up, I have had several pregnant women tell me that they have been craving this dumpling. So the P & C will be served at Goosetown Iowa City on Friday for all of you who love it but mostly for the sake of the future generation 😀
